We came across this TED talk on You Tube. It isn’t dysphagia related but is fascinating.
It is a talk given by Neuroanatomist Jill Bolte Taylor. She had an opportunity few brain scientists would wish for:
One morning, she realized she was having a massive stroke. As it happened – as she felt her brain functions slip away one by one, speech, movement, understanding — she studied and remembered every moment.
She shares her experience which gives you an insight into what it is like to experience a stroke and therefore help you, whether you are suffering from a stroke or caring for someone that has had one.
