Good, wholesome puree meals for those with dysphagia

Preparing good wholesome puree meals for those with dysphagia to a safe consistency, is time consuming, difficult and stressful for everyone.

Here in the UK, Chris Gills’ Company has been a catering supplier of Special Diets for over 20 years and for the last 12 has been developing, refining and selling his puree range.

These meals are all visually appealing, as they are all remoulded. And when they come out of the oven they still maintain their shape – but you cannot taste the thickener used!

They are all made from real, natural ingredients and as result they smell delicious and full of flavour.

This also means each puree meal contains a rich mix of vitamins and minerals, which are further enhanced by fortifying them with butter, milk and oils. Virtually all of them reach the UK’s Energy Dense classification of 500+ calories per 300g meal.

They are used and approved by Clinicians in National Health Service Hospitals across the UK and he has now launched a new website which allows people to order on line and have them delivered frozen to their homes.

We wanted to let you know about this new service because we know they will be enjoyed? We’ve tried them and enjoy them, but it’s the passion Chris and his team have for creating their puree meals which is unique.

To give you an idea of the extent they go to, they are developing non-melting ice cream! The flavouring for the Vanilla one was found to contain alcohol so they sourced another one to give it much more broad appeal!
